Kehua AI was jointly established by a Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry graduated from Chengdu Institute of Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, together with scholars from Peking University, Northwest A&F University, Sun Yat-sen University, Northwest Institute of Plateau Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Southeast University, China Pharmaceutical University, University of Hong Kong and other institutions, specializing in pharmacy, computer science, molecular biology and other fields.
Currently, Kehua AI mainly focuses on research, development and application promotion in the fields of natural product compound libraries, natural product big databases, "CHO-AI" innovative drug R&D new model construction, compound spectrum intelligent analysis, synthetic biology, small molecule compound cryo-electron microscopy (Micro ED) structure analysis, intelligent experimental systems, etc.
Natural Product Compound Library Construction: A natural product entity compound library has been established in Shenzhen, containing 7,080 natural products, and a 160,000 small molecule entity compound library has been jointly established with industry partners.
Natural Product Big Database: Basic data of over 5 million natural products have been organized and collected, covering basic information such as CAS, SMILES, SDF, 2D/3D structures, etc.; meanwhile, major spectral data such as NMR and MS, natural source information, drug target data, etc. are being supplemented. Part of the big database information has been publicly released and is continuously being updated and improved.
"CHO-AI" Innovative Drug R&D New Model: Relying on the natural product entity compound library and natural product big database constructed by Kehua AI, as well as the established unique structure-activity relationship training library, a multimodal AI-driven "CHO-AI" innovative drug R&D new model has been initially built, reversely calculating "disease → medicinal material → active ingredient". Currently, it has successfully guided the implementation of the "depression → Piper laetispicum → amide natural products" reverse research, discovering over 40 highly active Piper laetispicum amide compounds.
Compound Spectrum Intelligent Analysis: Through theoretical study of spectrum analysis, big data analysis, and computer deep learning, automated and intelligent compound spectrum analysis tools are gradually being developed. The first phase focuses on the development of intelligent analysis tools for natural product NMR carbon spectra, expected to be launched and operational by August 2025.
Small Molecule Compound Cryo-Electron Microscopy (Micro ED) Structure Analysis: Using Micro ED technology, structure analysis solutions for small molecule monomers, compounds, and complexes have been established. Over 150 small molecule compounds have undergone Micro ED structure analysis tests, and preliminary unique cryo-sample preparation, electron microscopy scanning, and data analysis solutions have been formed, allowing gradual external scientific research services.
Synthetic Biology: In the initial stage, the focus is mainly on basic research of synthetic biology for Paris polyphylla saponins, and research on the synthesis mechanism of Paris polyphylla and its endophytes is underway.
Intelligent Experimental System: Mainly focuses on the automation and intelligent transformation of natural product extraction, separation, purification and other experimental processes, avoiding the health impact of organic solvents, toxic components, etc. on researchers during the separation and purification process. Automated normal-phase silica gel column separation experiments are being conducted.
